Like many people I know, I had always felt
that there had to be a better way to treat illness than to
take antibiotics, steroids, and other powerful drugs. Having
an educational background in psychology and Eastern
thought, I had understood that the mind and body were
inseparably linked. I found it disturbing that allopathic
medicine seemed to ignore this critical connection.
In the early 90's I began to explore homeopathy
as a way to treat my family, myself and my pets. As I investigated
further, I discovered a 200-year-old medical system that
is currently thriving around the world. Furthermore,
I encountered a complete system of healing that is a safe
and effective method for treating all forms of
curable disease. As a home prescriber, I gradually began
to successfully treat more and more family and friends.
Then one day something changed. My 14-year-old cat became seriously ill
with a strange ailment. He acted dazed and wouldn't eat or drink anything.
The vet diagnosed senile dementia and recommended putting him to sleep.
I examined his symptoms homeopathically as a last ditch effort to save
his life.
I gave him two remedies with no success, but
after the third remedy he suddenly stood up, shook his body,
and walked over to his bowl to drink and eat. With homeopathic
care this elderly cat lived another 16 months until he died
of an incurable liver problem.
Just as a dry, drooping plant is revived with
water, this dying animal was brought back to life before
my eyes with one dose of homeopathically prepared Helleborous
Niger.
At that single moment, the profound power of
homeopathy was unmistakable.
I received my degree from The Devon School
of Homeopathy, studying with Misha Norland. Since that
time I have vigorously pursued professional homeopathic
studies with many of the best homeopaths in the world. The
greatest inspiration for me has been the work of Rajan Sankaran
and others in the Bombay School . I continue to travel to
India each fall to attend a small international seminar where
our Indian colleagues share with us the most exciting
new developments in the profession.
Working with fellow homeopaths is important
to me, and I am an active member of the Vermont Association
of Classical Homeopaths. As a faculty member of the California
Center for Homeopathic Education, I tutor professional homeopaths in
Canada and the US . I feel greatly honored that many of my fellow
homeopaths have chosen me to treat themselves and their families.
The longer I practice, the more I see and feel
the wonderful effects of homeopathy in the lives of those
I work with. This is the silent reward that keeps me going. |
